Crooked I Credits The Battle Rap Community For Understanding Lyricism Better Than Many Rap Critics

HipHopDX releases a clip from their new series “Crook’s Corner” with legendary Hip Hop artists Crooked I and Royce Da 5’9 discussing the topic of Battle Rap. When reflecting on fellow Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden’s battle vs Hollow Da Don at Total Slaughter, Royce Da 5’9 says that he often thinks about stepping in the ring to show and prove his talent in a rap battle format. Also during the interview, KXNG Crooked goes out of his way to credit the Battle Rap community for their understanding of the art form of lyricism saying “You know what I like? I just like the fact that the Battle Rap community understands us.” Crooked goes on to say “They understand exactly what we’re doing when they listen to the music more-so than I think rap critics”.
